Unfortunately, over half of the marriages in the United States end in divorce. This is caused by many factors and this is for many reasons, but the fact remains that divorce is very common and happens all of the time. In fact, divorce courts are generally so backed up that they cannot get lawyers and judges to work the system and to represent clients. If you are married and you are considering divorce then you will need to understand the reasons for divorce that you can claim when you fiel for your divorce. You are required to list a reason for your divorce when you request a divorce from the court.

One of the most common reasons for filing a divorce is that the couple realizes that they have different personal beliefs, that did not come out before their wedding. If one party of a couple has hid some deep feelings or deep personal beliefs that effect their behavior and effect the way they live and act, this can be very difficult for the other party, and often times leads to arguments and possible divorce.

Another of the most common reasons for divorce is infidelity. When one partner is unfaithful to the other partner, this will often lead to divorce. This so often leads to divorce because there is a break of trust and often a break in marriage vows that occurs when one partner cheats on the other partner with another person. Many people are unable to handle this cheating in their marriage and they often times ask for a divorce so that they can be freed of the relationship they have with that person. This is unfortunate, but is occurs very often in our society.

Another very common reasons for divorce is cruel treatment by one spouse on another. Cruel treatment could come in many forms. Most people assume that this would mean physical abuse, and this is certainly something that could warrant a divorce as well as criminal charges, however there are other type of cruel treatment that could also warrant a divorce. Cruel treatment could be emotional harassing. Many spouses berate and harass their spouses emotionally and belittle them as people. This could be grounds for a divorce and could cause one spouse to seek a divorce from the other spouse in a contested divorce. There are many other reasons for divorce, but these are the most common.
